Solo performance from Mauricio Veloso nach einer Forschung über die Weiblichkeit des männlichen Körpers. Eine Bansheeist im irischen Volksglauben ein weiblicher Geist, dessen Erscheinung einen bevorstehenden Tod in der Familie ankündigt. Sie wird meist als totenbleiche und weißgekleidete Frau mit langem weißlichemHaar dargestellt, die Augen sind oft glutrot vom ständigen Weinen. In den meisten Beschreibungen ist sie in stark fortgeschrittenem Alter, seltener auch jung und schön. Sie wird allerdings seltener gesehen als gehört: Meist einige Tage vor dem Verscheiden eines Familienmitglieds setzt sie sich. Berichten und verbreitetem Glauben zufolge vor das Fenster der Familie und schluchzt.

AT HOME WITH THE DANCING BOODIES is a 4 day video-project, located between dance/performance -video and a (fake) documentation of the process and a performance with(out) audience in Mediendeck in OK Center for Contemporary Art Linz. Topics and issues worked on amongst others started concerning questions of body-, gender- and identity- discourses and representations, playing with the ambiguity of a documentary attempt (especially in TRAILER) to the 4 day improvisation. The three different versions can be seen independently from each other as a short (10'), a trailer (4') and a fake docu (22'), as well as in relation to one another.

Do androgyns dream of electric sheep is a video-choreographed solo made of filmed improvised movement material. Editing, I was interested in playing foreward and backwards, and looping short movement sequences in contrast to real-time composition. On various layers the video is refering to Jurgen Leth's movie Det perfekte menneske (1967), which is mocking on a woman and a man performing in a white cube what is detected by the male off-voice as the 'perfect human' in action, while affirming gender stereotypes. Analogic Do Androgyns dream of Electric Sheep is situated in an almost 'perfect' white cube (one corner of the original room isn't totally white), the off-voice comes from a manipulated interpretation of Johnny Cash's 'We'll meet again'. Besides my interest in combining video as a fixative element with improvisation as an open, evolving tool, i'm interested in the different layers of readings by different audiences e.g. presented in a queer film festival, a dance festival or in fine arts context. Therefore the video contains still images, reflecting more on video as a medium and its related contexts.
